ALASKA BY SUE CHARLESTON

Sue brought in a beautiful quilt! In a rare move for a quilter, Sue is keeping this quilt for herself and will use it on her bed.

I used YLI "Pyramids of Giza" cotton thread. The digital quilting design is called "Nemesh's Feather Grande", and it is available from Urban Elementz. The large flowing feathers and swirls add so much motion to the quilt, and help break up and soften the angular lines on the blocks.

Here are a few photos of the quilting process.

The quilting is finished, and now Sue can sew on the binding.

I just love it when a customer shows me a photo of a quilt in its new home! I got this photo from Sue, showing this beautiful quilt on her bed!

Here is a short video of the quilt being digitally quilted with my Tin Lizzie Ansley 26 quilting machine and Butler Perfect Stitch computerized system. Maximize the screen to maximize your viewing pleasure!

The size of this quilt is approximately 93" x 93", and the cost for my services was $155.13, which included a set up fee, digital edge-to-edge quilting, and thread. Sue provided her own batting. The batting I sell is not wide enough - only 90" - so I would not have been able to sell Sue batting. And the quilt was finished and ready to be picked up in only a couple of days!
