With my Tin Lizzie Ansley 26 Long Arm Quilting Machine and Butler Perfect Stitch computerized system, I use the latest in technology along with my artistic design skills to bring out and enhance the beauty of your quilts. I handle each quilt with care, as though it were my own, and can usually finish your quilt within 1 week, possibly longer near the holidays.
I
started doing long arm quilting in 2001 and quilted 120 quilts over the next
two years, when I moved out of town and closed that business. I opened
the business up again in 2012 in my new location, with updated quilting
equipment. I attend seminars, training and quilt shows to stay up to date on
the latest advances in machine quilting and design. I have taught beginner and
intermediate quilting classes in several area quilt shops, at JoAnn Fabric and
Crafts in Orland Park IL, and in my home, and have been trained in the use of
computer-aided machine quilting.

examples of the designs you can choose from to enhance the beauty of your
quilt. There is no charge for using the digital designs I already have in my
library, but if you want me to purchase a new design for you, there is a $10
fee. Currently, I own 150 designs, and I add to them whenever funds
become available. If you want to browse for beautiful quilting designs
before you visit my studio, check out Urban Elementz, which is
where I purchase most of my digital quilting designs.
To get an estimate of what it would cost to have your quilt professionally quilted at my studio, use this simple formula:
Edge
to edge designs - 2 cents per square inch + $10.00 set up fee
Thread fee - $1.60 per bobbin of thread used.
(length
of top in inches x width of top in inches = total square inches)
A MINIMUM QUILTING CHARGE OF $35.00 APPLIES TO EACH QUILT.
Examples (excluding thread and batting):
Crib
- 46" x 46" = 2116 sq" x 2 cents = $42.32 + $10.00 =52.32
Throw - 57" x 69" = 3933 sq" x 2 cents = $78.66 + $10.00 = $88.66
Twin - 68" x 90" = 6120 sq" x 2 cents = $122.40 + $10.00 = $132.40
Full - 80" x 90" = 7200 sq" x 2 cents = $144.00 + $10.00 = $154.00
Queen - 90" x 108" = 9720 sq" x 2 cents = $194.40 + $10.00 = $204.40
King
- 110" x 110" = 12100 sq" x 2 cents = $242.00 + $10.00 = $252.00
QUILT BACKING GUIDELINES
Your
quilt backing and must be at least 8 inches longer than your quilt top and 8
inches wider than your quilt top to allow for proper loading onto the quilting
frame. (Bed sheets will not be accepted as quilt backing.) In other words, there must be an extra 4 inches on each edge of
your quilt back. If there is a seam in your backing, it must be made with
a 1/2" seam, pressed open, with no selvedges included in the seam.
If there are selvedges around the outside of the backing, that is not a
problem. If you want me to piece your backing, the fee is $13.00 per
seam. And remember, just as your quilt top needs to be
"square", so must your backing! If your backing is not square,
it will not be able to be loaded onto the frame, or may result in tucks or
folds in your completed quilt. If you need advice on how to square up
your top or back, just ask me and I will explain how to check for
"squareness".
QUILT BATTING GUIDELINES
Your quilt batting must be at least 6 inches longer than your quilt top and 6 inches wider than your quilt top. In other words, there must be an extra 3 inches on each edge of your quilt batting. For your convenience, I am currently selling Warm and White Cotton Batting (90" wide) for $14.00 per yard. I will cut this batting for you by the inch so that you do not have to buy more than you need. You are also welcome to purchase batting elsewhere and bring it with you when you drop off your quilt top and back. Extra puffy polyester quilt batting and extra thin polyester quilt batting will not be accepted.
